Working in a home office 'can boost productivity'

Office supplies such as computer accessories and stationery could be in high demand among the UK workforce, as many Britons are now opting to work from home. Andrew Leech, business manager at Mycompanyfleet, stated that technological advancements mean employees can now be just as productive at home as they can be in the office. Indeed, he suggested that productivity could potentially be improved by homeworking, as staff can avoid stressful situations such as their daily commute, reports Fleet Directory.

Mr Leech said this is particularly true during the winter months, during which employees have to negotiate Arctic weather conditions and hazardous road surfaces. "They can be just as effective working from home in many cases and when circumstances dictate," he commented. Mr Leech added that managers can facilitate home working by using technology such as the internet to access systems remotely.

This comes after a poll by Kodak Inkjet found that the majority of British employees would choose to establish an office at home if they had the opportunity. The firm said office supplies such as colour printers are now highly affordable, reliable and suitable for use in a domestic environment.
