Businesses which are investing in new computer accessories and software have been encouraged to opt for energy-saving options.

According to BusinessGreen.com, the fact that eco-friendly purchases can result in monetary savings is prompting many companies to go green. Indeed, website editor James Murray said products which help the environment offer good returns on the initial investment. "There's a strong commercial case for these types of projects and the [reduction in] CO2 emissions come in as a happy upside," he commented. Mr Murray said that regardless of the environmental benefits, there is a good financial case for switching to energy-saving products. He added that by definition, technology companies are aiming to come up with cutting edge and innovative products.
