Companies urged to research office printers before buying

Companies that are investing in a new office printer have been advised to consider a number of factors before making a purchase.

According to Bytestart.co.uk, businesses could benefit from researching the various models that are currently on the market. The online portal said many buyers may be tempted to avoid this, due to the large number of devices that are currently for sale.

However, Bytestart insisted that carrying out research could be useful, as different companies may have their own individual needs and preferences.
"Do you just need to print a Word document or email now and again, or will you be printing off hundreds of sheets a day?," it commented. The website added that while modern printers are very sophisticated, small laser devices may not be able to cope with five hours of consistent printing every day.

It has therefore recommended that if a firm does a lot of printing, they should choose a more robust model.

This comes after Louella Fernandes of IT analyst Quocirca told Silicon.com that multifunction printers could be a good option for firms that are looking to cut costs in the long term.
