Xerox praised for cutting cost of colour printing
Office supplies manufacturer Xerox has been commended for helping businesses save money when printing colour documents.
The organisation recently introduced the new ColorQube 9200 Series multifunction printer, which charges consumers for the amount of colour they use on a single page. This has enabled firms that have purchased the device to reduce the cost of printing in colour by nearly two-thirds without sacrificing the quality of their documents.
Xerox has been hailed by BERTL as a result of this development and been handed its Most Innovative Colour Printer Pricing award for 2009. Margie Davis, managing director of BERTL, commented: "Compared to traditional two-tiered pricing, Xerox's three-tiered approach opens the door to significantly reduced colour page costs." She added that the awards are given to recognise the most innovative and high-quality products that are currently on the market.
This comes after Ursula Burns, president of Xerox, said making colour printing jobs more affordable for big offices was a "fundamental barrier" that the company has tried to break.
