Employees 'should be told how to use office furniture'
Company bosses have been advised to make sure their staff know how to adjust and use their office furniture.
According to Atlas Ergonomics, proper usage of items such as chairs and desks is "vital" to the health and safety of employees.
Therefore, it has called on managers and executives to offer assistance to anyone who wants to alter the set-up of any furniture they use.
David Brodie, a director at Atlas, commented: "Employees who need help recognise that ergonomics as a concept is of value to them, but they do not know how to take advantage of it."
He added that since they are willing to accept help, training them to help themselves would be a prudent step for bosses to take.
This comes after the TUC warned that some employers are overlooking the importance of purchasing ergonomically sound office furniture.
