US-based trade website Alibaba stated that different types of cartridge have varying capacities, as they can print between 1,000 and 8,000 pages.
Therefore, consumers have been encouraged to look for the model which best suits their needs, circumstances and budget.
For instance, Alibaba stated that while a more expensive cartridge could require a greater initial outlay, it may provide better quality and last for much longer.
"They should try to stay away from impulsive buying and should carefully study the available options of laser printer toner," the website commented.
Alibaba added that when all the variables have been considered, purchasers should judge what offers the best quality and affordability.
Consumers can currently choose between products from well-known brands including Hewlett Packard, Konica, Epson and Samsung.
