Effective printing 'can save companies money'

Choosing the right printers can help businesses to save money, according to Samsung. A study commissioned by the electronics manufacturer found that only 20 per cent of small companies are aware of what their total cost of printing is, even though 85 per cent identified cost as the key factor in office products purchasing decisions. Samsung Print's marketing manager Steve Pearce told Macworld that printing is one area in which businesses could save money, if they give it enough thought.

When choosing printers for an office, companies need to consider the "whole document ecosystem", he explained. "Effectively managing the use of printers can contribute significant savings to the bottom line - be it through reducing IT support and repairs or the cost of consumables," said Mr Pearce.

Samsung recently launched the MultiXpress C8380ND - a combined colour printer, scanner, copier and fax, which the manufacturer claimed is the fastest machine of its type ever made.
