Logistics Overview

In the UK manufacturers supply products to Spicers central distribution centre (CDCs) at Sawston. The CDCs replenish goods stocked at the regional distribution centres (RDCs) on a daily basis, which in turn provide a same or next day service to office products dealers in their geographic area. In the UK a dealer distribution centre (DDC) provides a service whereby products are picked, wrapped and dispatched on behalf of a dealer and sent directly to their customers via an independent delivery service.

The provision of such a service allows dealers to reduce their stockholding and delivery costs. Such ‘stockless' dealers account for 35% of Spicers' UK wholesaling sales
